Backstory

Angels are truth, religion is lies. What people have been preaching for centuries are false, angels have not come to help and comfort us, rather they have come to ruin us. It is the story of angels that have spawned the concept of demons. Rather than being against each other, they are one in the same. Humanity is at a great risk. The prayers to these entities is what gives them power, and with that power they can bring the end of reality. ICARUS strives to protect, and spread the truth. It is our job to contain these angels, and make sure they cannot be strong enough. We have identified 8 angels so far, however they are countless others that have yet to descend upon us. These angels were contained within realms, devoid of knowledge and power, sound and vision, life and death. An endless void, designed by the angels, now used to restrain the angels. These realms reside within what were once simple boxes, but are now cursed objects. It is our job to make sure they never see the light of day, else the world is in great danger.

Michael

STATUS: CONTAINED
Entity SI 12:79, Codename: Michael the Leader.
The one the banish the devil to earth. Regarded within the bible as the one who defeated Satan, Michael is well renowned as one of the lordest finest soldiers. What we learned, is that his enjoyment in battle was far too extreme. He too came down to earth, causing mass disaster, starting wars and turning countries to ruin. The first of what would be a series of angels, Michael appeared to us not as a heavenly being, but as a destruction incarnate. Millions of lives were sacrificed, all without the knowledge of his existence. His landing site showed signs of his power, which we harnessed to our own benefit. We lured him, and trapped him within this very box, a simple yet effective object. He is constantly chained by his own power, and has to come close to escape.

Gabriel

STATUS: CONTAINED
Entity SI 1:26, Codename Gabriel the Foreteller.
The one who announced the arrival of the Lord. Appearing to the Virign Mary to announce her son Jesus, Gabriel is one who is often brought up within the New Testament. However, his saying are all lies. All his preachings has been used to cause false beliefs. Gabriel, while weak, has the power to convince others by use of his "horn," which in reality is his ability to warp minds. The second angel to have appeared, he was drawn to Michael's presence, and was detained quickly. He weaves his way into the minds of innocents and cause them to do unspeakable things in the name of the Lord. The box he has been enclosed in drastially restricts his power, but those who handle him must be wary to not be swayed by his harmony.

Raphael

STATUS: CONTAINED
Entity SI 12:15, Codename Raphael the Faker.
Michael and Gabriel, being the only angels mentioned by name within the Bible, made a grand entrance and decimated life within seconds of their appearance. Raphael was more quiet, taking on names and appearances of the people around him, starting mass conflicts, framing innocents, and doing the unthinkable all within the body of several humans. ICARUS caught onto this behaviour and tracked him down. His human form allowed for conventional weaponry to disable him, and gave us time to seal him within this chamber. His box is restrictive of his movement, disabling him. There has been no resistance to date.

Uriel

STATUS: DECEASED
Entity SI 63:9, Codename Uriel the Prohpet.
The calamity brought with this angel had been unmatched thus far. His actions were responsible for the creation of Area 01, Codename: Asia. The mighty continent fell upon his wrath by the guardian of chaos of extinction. When the Garden of Eden was discovered, Uriel awoke in a flame of fury and wiped out 1.2 Billion people, with the rest evacuation. The world believed it to be a great war, or a giant monster. The truth was hard to accept, and many struggle to do so. The angel was finally destroyed at the cost of America's and Asia's combined might. Many soldiers were lost in the war. The finale of the first series of angels. This box contains nothing, no power, no force, no life. Nothing. It serves as a reminder that he was another angel, and should any of our current angels escape, calamity may strike once more.
The prophesy called for the fall of humanity, we now know that it cannot be stopped.

Saraquel

STATUS: ~~CONTAINED~~ DECEASED
Entity 01: Codename Sariel the Officer of God.
The return of the angels shocked ICARUS and everyone who was aware of their existence. It had been over a decade since the calamity, and the world was finally returning to normal. An agent sent to free his peers, never mentioned within the bible, his existence was foretold only by the dead sea scrolls. No lives were taken, at least publically, but the destruction he caused for ICARUS was irrepairable. Hellbent on freeing the first series, he tore through our forces. Taking the form of part man and part monster, he walked amongst men but slaughtered us as cattle. It was only when we trapped him using the a new box we had developed from the corpse of Uriel that we managed to contain him.

Raguel

STATUS: ~~FRIENDLY~~ DECEASED
Entity 00: Codename Raguel the Justice Incarnate.
The angel that closest resembles the depictions of angels within the bible. He appeared to us as an ungodly apparition, and commanded ICARUS to release his allies. However, rather than attacking us immediately like other angels, Raguel was reasoable. Agreeing to a civil meeting and appearing in the form of a human. Upon shown the atrocities commited by the initial series, his rage had been rediverted to the forces of Heaven. We hade made a new ally. The box is merely a placeholder, a contingency plan, in the event of a betrayal.

Remiel

STATUS: CONTAINED
Entity 02: Codename Remiel the Watcher
This angel was similar to the first series. Seldom known, his power was weaker tha others. His job, to guide souls into heaven, involved slaughtering innocents. His rampage was quickly put to a stop by Raguel, who sealed him within this tomb. Remiel, however, still continues to watch the activites of humanity to this day. It is believed he has planned who he wishes to drag to heaven with him upon his unlikely escape.

Azrael
